HISTORY OF BASEBALL PLAYERS ASSOCIATION

The Baseball Players Association completes the third and final element of
programming for the leading sanctioning body of youth and adult softball in
the Nation. The BPA is a subsidiary of the National Softball Association.
Beginning in 1983 in Lexington, Kentucky, and founded by Mr. Hugh Cantrell,
the National Softball Association has become the most prominent sanctioning
body of Adult Softball in the Nation and has earned the reputation as the
“players association.” The NSA soon thereafter began its programming for
youth girl’s fast pitch softball, and today, leads the Nation in sanctions for
girl’s fast pitch. The organization completes its programming by offering
youth males the Baseball Players Association.

Although a newer program in the youth baseball ranks, the BPA will grow.
And much like the NSA, its roots and history will start right here in the Mid-West.
The philosophies, approach, and most importantly, the people who wear the NSA
and BPA names will make this program a success.

	MISSION STATEMENT

The BPA is not in the tee shirt novelty business - those rights belong to your complex and the tournament director. Around the country, park/complex owners and park/recreation directors search for new and better ways to satisfy their teams, managers and sponsors. Where there is a need, BPA is ready to respond with a system that guarantees more post season berths to the teams participating in BPA leagues and tournaments. This alone will make the teams, managers and sponsors more receptive to playing in your parks. The BPA offers your complex and parks/recreation department the opportunity to send baseball teams directly to the State, National Regional and World Series Tournaments through BPA sanctioned leagues and qualifying tournaments at no cost to you. The BPA also offers your complex and parks/recreation department the opportunity to host State, National Regional and World Series Tournaments every year at not cost to you. NO BIDDING! The BPA is an organization with you, the parks & recreation director or private complex owner in mind.
